Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations play an important role in the design and validation of process equipment for production systems in the upstream oil and gas industry.Using this approach allows for a flexible and fast verification and validation of designs for fluid flow behaviour inside process equipment. In conjuction with CFD, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) can be utilized to validate the impact of the fluid motion and other factors on the structural integrity of the equipment during its lifespan.

Process modeling is a commonly used approach in the upstream and downstream processing in the oil and gas industry. It offers efficient tools to simulate the whole processing plant or parts of it during the design phase of a new system or a retrofit project.
We have experience using AspenTech’s HySys and Honeywell’s Unisim Design in our previous projects. These are two of the commonly used process modeling packages in the industry.
